Econo Lodge Cherry Point

I literally needed someplace to sleep for a few hours after being up for over 30 and still having another 14 hour drive home. The young lady at the front desk was great and friendly. The rooms were perfect for what I needed. Were they luxury room? No, but I did not notice an odor and everything was as clean as you expect for the price. The issue is the same with all Econo lodges. The owner does not want to put money into them.

My partner and I recently stayed at this hotel while visiting New Bern and Atlantic Beach! It is situated conveniently between the two, and was a very economical option. We were relieved that the room we stayed in was renovated to match the photos, and very clean, it was definitely one of the nicer budget hotel rooms we've ever stayed in. Priyanka at the front desk was super helpful and made us feel welcome, and the hotel felt generally safe. I gave this place a high ranking relative to other budget hotels, but you can still expect the odor of cannabis in the halls and a slightly moldy smell as well. We did notice a small roach in our room as we were heading to bed. If this hotel fits your budget, it is still worth considering.

I can tell based on previous reviews that a lot of work has gone into this hotel to improve it, and I want to give credit where it's due. If you're looking for a clean room/bed to lay your head down, shower, and rest, I was satisfied. I used to be a hotel housekeeper so I tend to be pretty intense with what I inspect prior to deciding to stay somewhere once I'm physically in the room. Everything was clean, no evidence of bedbugs or any insects in general, no stray hairs leftover from previous inhabitants. There is a large "mini" fridge AND microwave, which I can say I've stayed at other more expensive hotels and they didn't have a microwave in the room! I stay in hotels a lot for work and like to go to the grocery store rather than eat out all the time, so having a microwave at my disposable is important. Overall, I was very happy with my stay. Yes in general the hotel is a little dated and run-down, but I can tell attempts are being made to improve it, and from what I've seen, I'd stay again.

It was okay but their under renovation but on top of that the main water line busted so there was no hot water when we arrived but they discounted our stay. Outside of that the sheet on one of the beds looked like someone just got out of it full of stains but the ladies at the front desk were very accommodating and fixed it right away. All in all it wasn't bad at all!

I come into town weekly. I work for a QSR company in town. Let me tell you, I have never ever been to a small hotel chain and been as happy as I have been with my stay here. No it's not the Hilton......But where they lack in Name Brand they make up in Customer Service. I would hire every single employee I have met here. Not once have I received bad service! My first night I'll never forget it the attendant took me to the room let me look around as I had never stayed there. She made me feel important, she answered my questions. And guess what!!!! not a single bug in sight!!! No roaches, no bed bugs!!! I have stayed 5 times already and will always go here as long as they keep this up!! Thank you !!

We had some issues with the first room we were given, but they were very accommodating and understanding. They moved us to a much better room and explained that they had just taken over ownership in the last couple of weeks and were trying hard to fix the issues that the previous owners had left. You can tell they are trying and deserve a chance to redeem this place. They are good people.

I read a lot of reviews online that listed no hot water, padlocks on the doors, terrible smells, holes in walls... The hotel is under renovation. Apparently slowly. We have stayed in much cleaner and well-maintained properties for much less per night. If this property were at a lower price point, it might be forgivable. We stayed because it was convenient to places we were visiting and has a liberal pet policy. The pool was damaged in Hurricane Florence (as was much of the hotel, I'm sure). It was not working at the time of our stay.
